Job Costing
Job Costing with Herbst ERP.
Within Herbst Insight, there are many optional modules and our job costing offering is just one of many.
Job Costing is simple and easy to use, but has the diversity and adaptability to fit your business needs.
What is “Job Costing”? : Simply put, Job Costing is a way to handle: finances; staff; stock; and operations, for jobs with unique requirements.
How does Job Costing work? : Manage all costs: materials, labour, machine time, subcontractor costs, and overheads etc. Assign account managers to specific tasks. Transfer inputs to jobs from any source, including direct purchases, to a specific stock location.
Produce quotations, estimates and proposed plans.
Classify jobs using a multi-level job group structure.
Flexible invoicing, allowing for multi-part charging. At any point you can invoice the customer for expenditures, even prior to completion. In this way you can cost large projects in multiple stages.
Notes, and files, can be stored for any task completed. They can then be easily replicated or sourced from within the jobs menu.
Produce detailed back sheets with costs and charge break down; for your records, or for invoicing your customers.
Multiple charge types include: no charge; fixed price; time+ materials (at cost); cost plus (additional expenses can be charged in a way that suits your business needs, with 20 user defined fields.)
Multi-customer job: divide the costs of a single job, among several customers. The charge ratio can be calculated in a multitude of ways.
Purchase Invoice/ Credit Note: order stock directly to a required job, ensuring the costs are passed to the job, and that stock is marked as part of that project.
Return unused stock, from a job, to any other stock location (eg. General stock, non-saleable items, etc).
If you are using the Herbst Insight HRM and Payroll suite, you can directly import charge rates for employees’ time. Otherwise, those values can be inputted manually.
